I just couldn't wait any longer...We put Kai in the pool this weekend for the first time and she loved it! she looked so cute in her little swimsuit. Here's some video of daddy pulling her around the pool. It was SUCH a hot day that i don't think she minded the cold water.
Also this weekend our friends Aaron and Kamryn came to visit. it was so much fun to see them, we barbecued and played games and stayed up talking really late. We were so glad they came to visit we really miss them.
Baby Kai with Uncle Aaron and Aunt Kam Baby Kai and all her babyness! i love seeing her just hang around in her diaper, it reminds me of how much a baby she is and i just can't get enough of it! We have one more week til we leave to spend Labor Day in Utah. We just can't wait to see family and friends.
For the last month I have been searching for a specific type of frame. I've been dying to make a bow holder for kailah's bows. I got the idea from this blogspot. I have dug through many frames at the local salvation army and goodwill but I just haven't found anything! So If anyone happens to run across a frame like this please let me know! I can't wait to get kailah's bows organized!
My new favorite drink was introduced to me by a seven year old last week! I babysat a neighbor last week and while preparing lunch she told me she wanted a Yogi Drink. What was this? Well all you do is put yogurt (your choice of flavor, peach is my favorite) and mix it with half a glass of milk. Who would have thought Yogi Drinks would be so good?!?!
The night after I posted my last post about Kailah rolling she was doing it all on her own! Now every time I put her on the ground she immediately rolls onto her tummy. And she hasn't quite figured out how to roll back to her back so she gets stuck on her tummy and after awhile yells for me to come roll her over. The minute she is on her back she rolls right back onto her tummy and we do the whole thing all over again. I almost started crying when I witnessed her roll onto her tummy for the first time by herself. I love seeing her experience new things. it is so rewarding as a mother to see these things. :)
Last weekend we attended the Ventura county fair. I love Fairs! it reminds me of summertime and being single actually...but its still just as fun with your family. We saw the biggest pig of our lives who had new little piglets and It just reminds me of just having Kailah and I loved seeing this mother pig with all her little one's. The miracle of life means so much to me now that I have experienced it first hand. It's like I feel a kinship with every pregnant woman I see and every person or animal that has new babies. haha! I never would have thought I would feel like this. Jason tried winning a prize for Kailah, since it was her very first fair, who better to win her a prize than daddy! Well since all the fun games were rigged, after Jason lost his money trying to shoot a star out of paper with a bebe gun, we decided to move on and try a game that you won a prize no matter what! well that was a great idea! Daddy won Kai a little stuffed Gorilla.-we pretty much paid five bucks to throw a ball, not win, and receive a stuffed animal. ha!- The best part of the Fair for me is the food! I love fair food! We got the biggest corn dogs I have ever seen in my whole life. (I tried to take a pic, but my camera died!) we figured out that they used a kabob stick, stuck 2 hot dogs on it and made it a corn dog! pretty dang yummy! And of coarse we didn't leave without getting churros and roasted almonds.
I've been trying to plan fun things to do as a family on saturdays since I'm not working right now we are trying to take advantage of every saturday. This saturday we went to the Wings Over Camarillo Air Show. We went to the Hill Air Show in Utah 3 years ago and loved it, so we knew we would enjoy it. Air shows are great for people watching too by the way... Kailah didn't really understand what all the planes were, or that she was even supposed to look at them. but she definitely responded to how noisy the planes were. Every time a plane passed she would hear it and widen her eyes real big and just look at me with an expression like "what was that!?!?!"
And every time it's load or music is playing or people are talking she likes to join in on the conversation and starts talking. I love this video we got of her talking! her little voice kills me.
So a while ago I blogged about my good friend Kamryn doing a show with my friend Keleigh from the salon I used to work at. City Salon. Well it aired yesterday and is supposed to be rerun all this week. So if you have the Style network then check out the show Split Ends. Kamryn is who Jason and I became really good friends with out here in California. and City Salon is the Salon I used to work for before we moved to Newbury Park. I miss this salon so much I love all the people there. I would have probably been on this episode too, but they filmed it while I was on Maternity leave. but Having Kailah was so much better than being on a TV show. Kamryn said her and Keleigh were soooo done filming the show at the end of the week! She wouldn't do it again. click on the link on the post above this one to get a sneak peak.
I was so excited to capture video this morning of Kailah rolling, so I'm jumping on to post this video. She needed a little help figuring out how to get to her side, but from there she's using those crazy strong muscles and getting herself up and over. Yay! how exciting for me to experience this. I love watching what she is learning. a couple days ago she was on her tummy and rolled to her back all by herself and I think that is her "first roll". She usually rolls to her side easy and can't figure out how to get up and over so now that she knows how to do both I'm sure she will be combining the two and rolling all over the place soon. She loves being on her tummy cause she can see upright and she can see more what is going on. OH YA, and she farts pretty loud in this video! it's so funny! she actually has farted in probally every video i've ever taken of her. lol!
Last weekend Jason and I got up on Saturday to play tennis with our new racquet's that we bought at a garage sale, then we went to the beach, then we came home and played tennis AGAIN! We were SO exhausted by the end of the day! Jason was like a little kid when we had to go home to feed kailah and get ready for the beach. he kept begging me to go back right then and play with him, PLEASE! haha! So I'm sure this weekend will be another exhausting one playing a little one on one. He already told me he wants to play tennis Friday night AND Saturday morning. whew! he's sure gonna keep me in shape. The great thing about digital cameras is all the pictures you can take! I know I made some faces like this when I was little. I love her little faces and her oh so sweet little mouth.
getting ready for church in the morning we decided to try NOT brushing Kai's hair since it seems to go a little wavy when it's wet.
About a month ago Kai used to talk (jibber jabber) alot, then for the last month she discovered her hands and since they were always shoved in her mouth we hadn't heard her talk in awhile. So Just this last week she'd been back to talking and we LOVE it! She has the sweetest little voice and we love hearing it. After she talks for a little bit I try to talk back, to encourage her to talk and she will just start yapping right back to me. We carry on a "conversation" for a good 5 minutes sometimes. i had to hide when getting this video cause if she sees the camera, she just stops and stares at it!
By the request of my Niece Mckenna, here is a video of me and Baby kai. My sister Lisa told me Mckenna was watching the videos on my blog and said "why isn't Kristen in the video" haha, so I decided to get ready (which doesn't happen alot anymore) and take Kai out and shoot a mini mommy and me video. So I hope you enjoy it Mckenna, cause this one's for you!
I am ecstatic about visiting Utah in a month! I have been missing my family a lot lately and I just cannot wait to see my nieces and nephews and squeeze them and kiss them! and I'm dying to see all the new babies in my family, the triplets Karrington, Cohen, and Avabelle. Emily's new baby Lauren, and Jason's brother Justin's new little girl Kambrie. (my sister amy also just had a baby Markus, but they live in Georgia.) Kailah is so lucky to have so many cousins her age. She is just going to love going to family reunions and trips to Utah as she grows up. Cousins are the best! Kailah's hair is pretty wild and I've always just put headbands on her for the most part but it's starting to grow out of control and I don't know what to do! I am planning to cut her mullet but I wanted to wait til the back gets a couple more inches so it's long enough to save. I probably should do pig tails more. I mean, god blessed us with kai's full head of hair, I should be experimenting more and be the hairstylist that I am. So the other day I did three pig tails and tied ribbon around them. It definitely made Kai look more put together (when I just brush it, it doesn't look like I even did her hair!) and of coarse Jason came home with the question; why does she have 3 pigtails??? (like I should have a reason for doing three or something..) Well that's the great thing with baby girls you can do all sorts of fun stuff to their hair and it doesn't matter cause they are still just as cute!
