more rolling, fun fair, and airshow

The night after I posted my last post about Kailah rolling she was doing it all on her own! Now every time I put her on the ground she immediately rolls onto her tummy. And she hasn't quite figured out how to roll back to her back so she gets stuck on her tummy and after awhile yells for me to come roll her over. The minute she is on her back she rolls right back onto her tummy and we do the whole thing all over again. I almost started crying when I witnessed her roll onto her tummy for the first time by herself. I love seeing her experience new things. it is so rewarding as a mother to see these things. :)

Last weekend we attended the Ventura county fair. I love Fairs! it reminds me of summertime and being single actually...but its still just as fun with your family. We saw the biggest pig of our lives who had new little piglets and It just reminds me of just having Kailah and I loved seeing this mother pig with all her little one's. The miracle of life means so much to me now that I have experienced it first hand. It's like I feel a kinship with every pregnant woman I see and every person or animal that has new babies. haha! I never would have thought I would feel like this.
Jason tried winning a prize for Kailah, since it was her very first fair, who better to win her a prize than daddy! Well since all the fun games were rigged, after Jason lost his money trying to shoot a star out of paper with a bebe gun, we decided to move on and try a game that you won a prize no matter what! well that was a great idea! Daddy won Kai a little stuffed Gorilla.-we pretty much paid five bucks to throw a ball, not win, and receive a stuffed animal. ha!-

The best part of the Fair for me is the food! I love fair food! We got the biggest corn dogs I have ever seen in my whole life. (I tried to take a pic, but my camera died!) we figured out that they used a kabob stick, stuck 2 hot dogs on it and made it a corn dog! pretty dang yummy! And of coarse we didn't leave without getting churros and roasted almonds.

I've been trying to plan fun things to do as a family on saturdays since I'm not working right now we are trying to take advantage of every saturday. This saturday we went to the Wings Over Camarillo Air Show. We went to the Hill Air Show in Utah 3 years ago and loved it, so we knew we would enjoy it. Air shows are great for people watching too by the way...

Kailah didn't really understand what all the planes were, or that she was even supposed to look at them. but she definitely responded to how noisy the planes were. Every time a plane passed she would hear it and widen her eyes real big and just look at me with an expression like "what was that!?!?!"

And every time it's load or music is playing or people are talking she likes to join in on the conversation and starts talking. I love this video we got of her talking! her little voice kills me.

  3. Holy cow Kai is getting SO big and all grown up...rolling by herself and trying to join in conversations--her little voice is so cute. You guys are like the model family from a magazine--all cute in your yellow at the airshow. Glad everything is going great for you!

PS Yogi drinks are very good--we like to add frozen fruit to ours and once in a while we will add frozen or fresh spinach (it's really not that bad, but it does taste better without it).

I also love to hear that you feel a "kinship" with all pregnant women (or should I say animals) and mommies--I haven't even had my baby yet but I still feel like I have so much in common with mommies now--it's amazing how much you can love your little baby even while you're still pregnant.
