Tummy time and new apartment

Here's pictures of out new apartment. We are still trying to get things in order, so don't mind the mess...The View from our Balcony. This is the reason Jason had to get the 3rd floor
Kailah's new room, I love her two windows it brings in so much light, we miss her orange walls though!
hallway to Kailah's room on the left and the front room on the right.
Office/dining room, notice we have no dining table which leaves us plenty of room to blow up a mattress and have guests over. hint hint!

right when you walk in the door the kitchen is to your right, straight ahead is the living room and balcony.

Every morning after Kailah is fed and done taking a bath I put her on her tummy for a little tummy time. She's so cute I had to record how funny she is on her tummy. She is lifting her head up so much! I can't beleive how strong my 2 1/2 month old is! it's kind of a long video...

23 years old! happy birthday to me!

Happy Birthday to me today! Actually Jason and I almost forgot about it, if it hadn't been for my girlfriend Janiel calling me 3 days before asking what we were going to do for it! omgosh, we have been SO SO busy, I mean who forgets their birthday? Actually now that I'm older I just think birthdays are awkward! celebrating yourself??? that's just weird! and I hate getting gifts! unless it's from my husband of coarse! he is NEVER off the hook! But thinking about it 23 years ago today my mom and dad had an experience like we just did with Kailah, and putting it in that perspective really makes things more exciting.! Birthdays are really for parents and grandparents. Kailah's Birthday is such a big deal! only cause we experienced it and it was WONDERFUL and i always want to remember that day! i decided I am going to put together a video for her and so she can watch it every year for her birthday and remember why we are celebrating! :)
So besides getting money and gifts from everyone... Jason and Kailah and I spent my birthday at church (1p-4p block hours) and I made a roast for dinner, and then we planned what we are going to do for the fourth. Jason did manage to get me a birthday card and itunes gift card (this is his last minute gift when he almost forgets about special days!) But at least I got a gift... two years ago he went birthday shopping for me and came home with several new outfits for HIMSELF!!! he got better gifts for himself on my birthday than I did!!! I'll never let him live that down!

Kailah is 2 1/2 months and is as adorable as can be. She still sleeps alot and she loves trying to eat her hands. She used to try and talk alot but now she always has her hands in her month so she never can talk. She also gets really bored so she likes to be held and up looking around, seeing whats going on. She doesn't like missing out on anything. Here's some recent video, Grandma Julie and Grandpa steve bought her a little playmat so she doesn't get so bored, and she likes it for the most part. You can hear her cooing in the video, not to be confused with the monkey noises in the background music.

The BIG move, and more firsts

Sorry we have been MIA lately. We decided to pretty much just up and move this weeekend. Thursday we packed all our stuff And Friday we said goodbye to the good 'ole OC! For now anyways. It was really sad saying goodbye to so many good memories. We just fell in love with irvine and hope that one day we can move back to the city that Kailah was born in. Thanks aunt Marianne for helping with the move! Besides moving from the hospital to our home in irvine, this is the 1st time Kailah has moved. Kai also had her 1st set of shots this week. My step family is not believers of shots so I was a little Leary of giving kailah shots, but Jason and I decided to split up her immunizations but still do all of them. It's crazy making all these decisions for someone who can't make them herself. I hate knowing if anything happened to her because of a choice I made, I would feel so much guilt for the rest of my life. Kai only cried for a second when the needle went in her thigh and as soon as I picked her up she was a happy baby again. :) Kailah went to her 1st movie this weekend; Star Trek! She did sit up for a little bit to see the big screen, but most the time she was eating and sleeping. Jason and I really enjoyed being able to go out to dinner and a movie after a long weekend of packing and un packing.
Our new apartment is in Newbury Park( Thousand Oaks), CA. And so far, so good. Jason made the final decision on the apartment, and it's beautiful. The complex is only 3 years old so every thing is still really new looking. It's right by a couple of parks and an elementary school and in a safe little community. We have a great view from our balcony, but in order to get that view we had to get a third floor apartment. The climb sucks with a baby carrier in arm but my legs sure get a good work out, And it's worth it for the view... Right?!?!
Jason and I have never lived in a really nice apartme
nt before. Since we have been married we have moved about every six months, and everytime we are always trying to find the best deal, so it's
never a nice or new apartment. Luckily we still got a pretty good deal on this place but it is a little off the beaten path, but I think we will enjoy it while we are here.
Jasons first fathers day was really fun. We went to our new ward which I think is going to take a little bit to get used to, but I always think that and usually end up really liking the ward so I will keep you updated.  Then we took a drive to explore the area and see how close the beach is. We drove through the malibu mountains only to find out that going through the mountains takes a LOT  longer than driving AROUND the mountain!  we'll know better next time we go!  Malibu is probally our closest beach.
Kailah's bandaged leg where she had her first shot! :(
this is what my plants looked like before we left Irvine! they were growing like crazy!

father's day this is the beach we drove to. Point Mugu State Beach

I did Kailah's hair in a ponytail today! she looks so cute!

Kailah's baby blessing

Kailah was blessed by Jason this weekend. It was such a beautiful blessing. We are so happy to have her in our lives. She got to wear the prettiest dress, it was so poofy. :) Thank you to everyone who came and supported us. We were so lucky to have Jason's parents and sister Jen as well as my parents here for the blessing. We have loved having family in town. It has been non stop for the last month or two for Jason and I. We found an apartment to live in in Thousand Oaks until we can find a place of our own to buy. We plan on moving as soon as possible so this only means it's going to be even a more crazy year for us.

more Kailah video

i was able to download some more video, so here it is.
I went to my postpartum appointment today and was happy to hear that I only have 6 more pounds to lose before I will be back to my pre-pregnancy weight! yay!! My goal is 10 more pounds, that way I will be back to my high school weight, that would be cool.
Monday I went running for the first time since having Kailah. It felt good to get out, but it totally throws my schedule all over the place. I don't know how parents find time to work out while having young kids. hopefully I can get the hang of it.
