Valentines Day 2011

This year Jason planned Valentines Day.  Here is my post of his fun Date from the Dating Divas Blog.

Just to give you a heads up, we are really big Bachelor fans at our house. It is our guilty pleasure and one of the only TV shows we watch, since we don't watch a lot of TV. On the morning of our date, I woke up to the sound of dishes clanking and the smell of French Toast. I was SO surprised to find my hubby in the kitchen cooking me a gourmet breakfast before he headed out the door to work. Just the fact that he woke up a half hour early just to make me a special breakfast was enough to prove his love....but he was JUST getting started.

With breakfast was a perfect little note sending me on a mini scavenger hunt. I just adore my husband's poems. He used to write poems to me all the time when we were dating and hasn't done it in a long time. I was laughing and crying! In every note there was some kind of inside joke or great memory.

At the end of the hunt I found a "date card" inviting me to a romantic lunch by the lake.

He had tried to already find a babysitter for me so I wouldn't have to, but since it was a week day he was having a bit of trouble but I gladly called a few friends/neighbors to see if my daughter could come play for a few hours while I went on my "rose"- mantic lunch date.

When I met him at 12:30 for lunch he had picked a perfect restaurant right by a local lake, it was an amazing view and really set the mood.

After lunch he presented me with a single rose and a final note.

And, of COURSE, I accepted!

We took a walk around the lake to finish our lunch date and before Jason had to head back to work.

While at home I wanted to create a really simple dinner that would be fun and look like I put a little bit of thought into it, but also really easy and last minute. So what better than...

Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup! :) I used a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut our sandwiches into hearts and give them a little love.

For dessert and a treat while we watched our show - Chocolate Covered Strawberries! Mmm.... you can buy any chocolate you like in the baking section of the grocery store - just make sure to read the directions on how to melt the chocolate or you'll end up with cooked chocolate not appropriate for dipping...and don't you worry, it took me the entire bag until I finally melted the last few chocolate pieces perfectly, luckily barely covering the strawberries I bought! lol!

And here are a few pictures behind the scences of our date including Kailah and presents.  I like to make sure Jason and Kailah feel loved on this day so I like to get little gifts for them both and Kailah just loved opening her gifts!

Pink Elephant Party

Our friends had a pink elephant party this year to celebrate Valentines Day.  We exchanged funny gifts for "in the bedroom" and we ate good food and played a newlywed game I created.  We are so lucky to have a such a fun group of friends that like to do the same things we do and are always up for getting together.

Kailah 22months

There has been so much going on with Kailah and she is growing and learning like crazy!  I Love all the things that she is doing and the stage she is in right now! Kailah loves to dance & sing, which is one of the first things that we do in the morning after we have breakfast.  She absolutely loves Yo Gaba Gaba, Elmo, and Strawberry shortcake!  She has been learning all the songs and likes to sing along.  It sounds more like "na...ha...bea...as...SMALL..u..eee....nee...TALL...nah...neee...aaaa....ee....CALL!"(it's the strawberry shortcake theme song.  She knows exactly when to say the words she knows, and the rest of it is singing the tune.
Some of her favorite songs are:
*wheels on the bus
*head shoulders knees and toes
*if your happy and you know it
*apples and bananas
She also got an Elmo sing along book for Christmas and she loves singing along to it right before bed every night.
She knows SO many words, some are probably not understandable to other people but Jason and I know what she's saying, she has different ways of saying lots of things, Like Drink is "gnika"(Drinka is where we think she got that word from), Yo Gaba Gaba is "baga, baga", and elmo is "e-mo!".  She is constantly learning new words and will repeat words you say.  Her latest word is "Gosh!" It's so cute coming out of her little mouth.    She has always been a sentence user, she never will tell you something using one word its always gibber jabber and then a few words you are able to really make out.  The only sentence that I can make out completely of hers is "I wan et", when she wants something.
Oh and another word she learned recently is "Boodties"(boobies). The other day she found a bra of mine and came out of my room holding the bra up to her chest saying "Boodties! Boodties!"

Kailah loves going out on our balcony and waving at people and saying "hi!"

Kailah has been potty training the last month and for the first 3 weeks she was doing AMAZNG, maybe a few pee-pee accidents here and there every few day.
I am so proud of my little girl and so happy to have her around all the time.  She makes life so much fun!
