Love is in the Air

We went to the beach this weekend and there were Jet's flying WAY up in the sky! So high we could barely see the tiny black jets! They were spelling out 'love is in the air' several times across the sky, we were just waiting for them to write a proposal of marriage out for someone or something. The Jet's ended up just flying away, we have no idea the reason for the sky writing.  It was really fun to watch and it got EVERYOnE's attention on the Beach.   Jason snapped these pictures with his iphone and they ended up looking sooo cool!

Bachelorette Premier Party

We invited some friends over to kick off the Bachelorette last monday.  Lisa came up with the idea to have a premier party and since I couldn't attend her party I threw my own! :)
We had a lot of fun!  Jason and I really enjoy watching this show together. We always put Kailah to bed quickly on monday nights so we can enjoy the rest of our night watching the show.
Our friends Mandy and Brad made the coolest chocolate covered strawberries and they were SO yummy!

Photography group

My ward Relief society just started a Photography Group and I GLADLY volunteered to be the group leader.  I knew if I was a leader than I would  have more of a say in what we do AND I would be forced to go to every meeting!  I am super excited and we have a professional photographer in our group so she is going to help us a lot.   I realize that a lot of becoming a successful photographer is networking and learning from other people. I am really excited to start this and can't wait to see my pictures improve over time.  For now I am posting my recent work over at Kiwi Photography.  I just did a pregnancy shoot of my friend Elaina and I can't wait to get the pics up! :)

Diet Update

So I made it to day 6!! Wahoo! I probably would have kept going but it was the weekend and I really wanted to go on a fun date which involved eating food NOT on my diet! :) It definitely felt really good to be watching what I was eating and I was never hungry. I pretty much had NO carbs all week so by the weekend I was so ready for a piece of bread and some pasta! I also ONLY drank water and this drink called Yoli that my mom and a lot of my step-family are selling. The scale said I was down 5 pounds which in reality means I probably lost only 2pounds, which is great for only going 6 days. I will probally do the diet again and try to go longer next time but not over any holidays or fun weekends cause I don't want to be restricted!
So for the whole 6 days I had Jason fend for himself.   I couldn't focus on making him meals and me and Kailah 6 meals a day so this is what Jason ate for dinner all week;
mangos, left over mac and cheese, cottage cheese, and a piece of bread! and he was still complaining that he was hungry after his dinner.  oh and notice the paper plate!
 So when my diet was done I was SO happy to fix us a really yummy dinner;
This week really helped me realize how dependent Jason is on me for dinners and taking care of the house. and how important my role as a wife is to him.   What's funny is I don't think Jason really understood what I meant by fend for himself this week. He kept hoping I would make dinner. He came home from work and picked up the whole house one night just to kill time before seeing if I would make him dinner.  Honestly I don't think he would eat healthy at ALL if it wasn't for me. We were talking about this and just laughing cause we both know it's true.  I remember what it was like working all day too and not wanting to go home and make dinner or clean and take care of bills etc... I am so happy I am able to do these things for Jason so he can do what he wants and relax when he gets home.  And in return he is making sure Kailah and my needs are met.
Jason even jokes to the single guys at work that they need to find them a wife, and how nice it is cause they cook and clean etc...  I love that he is so appreciative of me and lets me know that! :)

video of Kai Month 13

I finally cleared off my camcorder which has been full since Kailah's birthday.  I am so excited to get more video of her.  In the last month she has grown this HUGE personality that is hard not to like!  She dances and claps her hands when music comes on and just this week she has started doing circles!

She was so proud of herself for being able to get under our chairs all by herself.  She is such a talker. This video is only a couple minutes long but she literally walks around our house ALL day talking like this non-stop.

She loves to find the biggest, heaviest things around the house and carry them around.  It's funny to watch this small little person haul things twice her size around.

Kailah loves to be chased.  Everytime daddy comes home she is so excited to see him and wants to play.  She will point to him and say da-da.   My new favorite thing that she is doing is that she points at everything! and then she says something about what she's pointing to.   The first thing she does in the morning when I go get her out of bed is she points to something and just starts jibbering!

She bites all her stuffed animals noses, and gives them HUGE hugs. I think that's what she thinks kissing is cause there are times when I ask her to give me kisses and she opens her mouth and tries to eat my nose. lol!   She loves to gives hugs to mom and dad and yesterday was the first time I saw her really walk up to another little boy and give him a hug. It was too cute for words!

Yesterday Kailah had the opportunity to do a photo shoot for a wholesale clothing company named Bella (totally un-related to Bella-Bling).   She did really good and everyone just loved her!  I love going to these photo shoots and meeting lots of people and getting to learn the tricks of the trade and how everything works in that industry.  Kailah's photos will be used for their catalog and on their website. I can't wait to see the pictures. Apparantely the photographer does mostly fashion photography and this was his very first time shooting children.

Starting a business???

I just ran across some papers I have scribbled on over the past year. I had written down some ideas 6months ago that I never put into action and now i'm thinking about it again.
There are 3things I love; hair (obviously), photography, and blogging (another obvious). I was thinking about how great it would be if I could do all three!
I could come up with different hairstyles and show people how to use different hair accessories and I could take pictures of my work and then blog about it! I could get lots of accessories from the fashion distriict, wholesale, and buy them in bulk from different people who make them. I would just make the accessories myself but after making a billion hair accessories for kailah before she was born, I decided I dont really like to make things as much as I like to buy them, look at them, or just wish I knew how to make them!
I ran across a blog today who does almost exactly this with hair accesories and tutorials and it makes me wish I would have just done this months ago!
But now that I'm done writing all this I am talking myself out of it again because I know there would have to be a lot of work that goes into it! Hmmm....
Also there are tons of hair and hair accessory blogs out there so I would need to figure out a strategy and really know a goal of how big I would want to get and how much work I could really do. It would be fun when I finally get back into a salon or own my own salon to have my own line of hair accessories! Anyways these are all dreams and I just wanted to write this down so one day when I have the motivation to do it, I won't forget about it!

Ps. Day 2 of the diet is going good! Although I really want some sweets right now! Yesterday while I was devouring a mango I had wrapped in a paper towel, Jason though I was sneaking a piece of cake when I thought he wasn't looking! He gave me this look like what do you think you are you doing? And I just said "what? It's a mango" hahaha! It was too funny! He knows me too well to think I would sneak behind his back and eat a piece of cake! (cause I totally would do something like that! ;))

10-day Diet

Today was my first day of a 10-day diet I am doing.  I have been saying I was going to do it for the longest time, but i just never had the motivation to do it until this weekend, when Jason and I went on an exercise date, (look for the date post next week on the Dating Divas.)
I Love food so much! And I know I eat way too much of it! especially sweets! YUM!  So I hope that this diet will help me realize my portion sizes and how much sweets I really eat! Hopefully at the end of the 10 days(if I make it!)  I will be able to maintain healthier eating habits.
Already today I have been offered sweets (pastries, my favorite) at 3 different times before 3pm. All of which I would have gladly accepted, (and almost did), if I had not already started my diet early this morning.
I had bacon and eggs for breakfast this morning
a yummy salad with mushrooms and cherry tomatos for lunch
salmon for dinner
and been snacking on fruit in between meals.
So far the dieting is great and my meals have been really good and I haven't felt hungry all day. :) but it is only the first day.  I am going to try and document it throughout the week if I have time.

Kailah's Target ad

The Target ad came out this week with Kailah in it. It was fun to see. I still can't believe how much, money, time and effort went into taking this one lousy picture!  Yay for Kailah, I will be sure to make my way to Target this week to pick up a hard copy for memorabilia.

Kailah has been walking around the house this week, pointing to everything. it is so fun to see her point to things and now I know better what she wants.  She loves running up to Jason and I and wrapping her little arms around our legs for a big baby hug! they are so sweet I love getting hugs from her.
Here is a picture of Kai's burn on her arm. this was taken only 10days after the burn happened.  it is completely healed, now we just wait to see if the pink will fade or if I ruined her poor arm forever. we are using Mederma to treat it so it doesn't stay scared, and that stuff is not cheap so it better work!

I love these next pics of Kai, she just woke up so her hair is a mess and I just love the dress in the panties look she is rockin!

Mother's Day 2010

I had a nice 2nd mother's day. We went to church where of coarse we have a teary eyed speaker that really got my eyes flowing and then she was followed by the primary children who have me laughing so hard, I can't stop crying!  Over Easter when the primary kids sang, there was this one boy who kept picking his nose and his parents in the congregation would point to him and tell him to stop and the little 5 yr. old boy would point back to his parents mouthing 'no you stop'. hahaha! I was cracking up! And it didn't help that Jason was laughing right along with me. If you have ever been around me when I am dying laughing, you know that I start crying and can't stop my giggles, definately NOT appropriate for church!

At home Jason surprised me (or tried to) with a hand written heartfelt note and some perfume. I am so thankful for Jason, he is such an amazing husband.  He has been taking care of Kailah for most of the day which is nice so I can do what I WANT to do, like sleep and do nothing!

Jason got a new external hard drive this past week for his laptop and he is SO excited cause now he finally has wireless internet which he has been dying to get since we moved here a year ago.  So we spent Saturday in side all day while he worked on organizing our computer, Technology adds so much to do's to our list.  I honestly can't remember the last Saturday that I have spent the whole day inside doing NOTHING! seriously probably hasn't been since I was 14 or something.  I had to try really hard into convincing myself that it is really ok to not do anything and still feel ok about it and not feel lazy.  It was really good for Jason, he needed it, plus he was getting over a sickness this weekend and he feels much better today.

Take me out to the Ball GaMe!

Uncle Jon and Aunt Yolie invited us to a Dodgers game this weekend.  This was Kailah's first Baseball game.  I love the food at baseball games and that is the real reason I like to go. The seats were really close and it was fun to have the loud crowd surrounding us. Kailah didn't know what to think of all the loud fans at first, but she warmed up and ended up having a late night, I don't think she went to bed til around 11:00pm when we left.  Thanks Jon and Yolie for a fun night out!
We bought some ice cream and it came in a perfect little souvenir hat for Kailah to remember her first baseball game.
Yolie and I spent a lot of time spying on people and seeing if we could see any celebrities. The only person we saw was Mary Hart who is a broadcaster for Entertainment tonight.

I was glad to see that Kailah has a doll that fits her dodgers hat perfectly.

Bella-Bling new website

Bella-Bling has launched their new website.  Go take a look around you'll see lots of Kailah!
Make sure you click on all of the different images since they are in groups and Kailah is in most groups.
bella-bling is also doing a 30% off everything since they are launching this NEW website!

The Doctors

I can't believe I haven't posted about this yet.

A few months ago Kailah and I got the opportunity to film a short question and answer session for the show The Doctors.  It was a fun experience and we got to meet Brooke Burke and a handful of other mom's from our agency.

Kailah has had lots of auditions lately, but hasn't got any more gigs.  I still enjoy being apart of the agency with her. It's fun to be given opportunities we wouldn't normally be given. And I really enjoy meeting other moms that are in the industry too.  So far it has been a good experience and Kailah's agency is awesome, so we are going to continue to go on auditions and hope she gets more opportunities to add to her college fund. :)
Her Target ad is supposed to be coming out in the next couple weeks, so keep your eye out for it!

Our funny little girl

Since Kailah has turned one there is so much change going on.  She is becoming more needy lately. during the day Kai loves being where ever I am and she follows me around all day until I play with her, and when I stop playing with her she continues to follow me around to see what I do next. She hates it when I am on the computer cause she knows she's not going to get attention, she cries when I go sit down at the computer desk. So she has been getting ALL my attention lately. At least I can continue keeping the house clean! she just stands by me and watches (helps) me do dishes or do laundry.  Although, showers are getting a little trickier, if she knows I'm in the shower she will stand out my door and whine, cause she wants to come in. I used to keep the door open so she could, but now she knows how to pull the shower curtain open so the water goes everywhere. poor kid needs a sibling or something.
We have been going to the park a lot lately. as soon as she sees other kids she forgets being my friend and hurries over to her new little friends. she loves meeting other toddlers, and she's usually the first one to go up to them all by herself.  A couple weeks ago we were at the park and we were kind of by ourselves when Kailah saw another little girl her age, she hurried, stood up, said 'ooh!' and started walking to this little girl while continuing to say 'ooh, ooh'. So I went over and introduced the little ones and I met Kailah's new friends mom, Shannon, It was actually nice getting to know another mom with just one baby, we had a lot in common and it was nice to know they lived so close.  We actually exchanged numbers and had a little play date today. Kailah and Lilly play good together.
Kailah has a big fear of our vacuum cleaner which I think is so cute. she never cries at it, but when I turn it on she looks at me with wide eyes and hurries walking away. it's so cute to see her tense up and walk away quickly.  Sometimes I chase her with the vacuum just to see her scurry away.  I know, I'm mean, but it's so cute.
She now gives momma and dadda hugs, as well as every stuffed animal she ownes. She squeezes them really tight and makes a squinty face when she does it.
Even more of her squinty face, she is starting to do this to extreme lately.
She is still in #2 diapers. I wonder if she will be in them until she is potty trained?  I don't always notice how small she is until I see other kids around her age and then I really see the difference.
She has just learned where her belly is, and what it means when we say it. She will lift up her shirt (if not wearing a onesie) and show us that little belly of hers.
She LOVES to say 'dadda' she rarely says momma, but is starting to a little more. Tonight Jason was getting her ready for bed and she started getting fussy because she was SO tired from not having much of a nap at ALL today. And she lets out this big 'MOMMAAAAAA!' Jason and I look at each other and say 'oooohhh...that was clearly a momma!' so i finished getting her ready for bed.  I love that she is finally learning to tell us what she wants.
Kailah is learning to stick her finger up her nose, we can't believe how far up there she can get it!
she loves taking off her sandals after I put them on her.  she's starting to recognize the things I do and tries to copy it.  Like I will wipe her hands with a paper towel and next time when she has a paper towel she tries wiping her hands with it.
Kailah still likes to clap her hands and when she's hears music she will rock back and forth and head bang. too cute!
Kailah has a little stroller she loves pushing around, lately she has been bumping into the walls with it and getting really frustrated cause she doesn't know how to back up yet.
I've also been noticing when she is playing with her friends she walks around with this wide open mouth and does this fake laugh. I wonder if she is trying to laugh cause she hears the other kids doing it. either way I know she is happy and that makes me happy.
One more pic that makes me smile. she likes to find things and come show us what they are. or feed us her food when she has it.
We Love you Kailah! You are so full of Sunshine and make us smile constantly.
