Sequoia Camping

This September we decided to switch it up a bit and instead of going beach camping like we normally do, we went with a group of friends to Kings Canyon, Sequoia National Park.
This was our first big road trip since having Kruz.  We surprisingly fit all our camping gear in our small Mazda 3. There's no way we could have fit one more person in there.  This is how we roll...
Kailah hadn't been camping for 2 minutes and she already looked like a cave woman baby!
There were a lot of bugs where we camped and because Kruz was so new I didn't want him exposed to all their nasty bites so he hung out in the tent most the time.  We broiught his little bouncer for him to sleep on.

On the second day there it started to rain.  Apparently it is quite common in this neck of the woods to have a rain storm at least once a day.  Luckily, our friends the Bushman's brought a big canopy so we all piled in there in the morning til the rain passed. It was quite the experience and really cool to see the storm come in through all the trees. It seemed straight out of a movie.
That afternoon we went on a hike to a small waterfall and a big open meadow.

2 Nights was not nearly long enough to really explore the park.  On the day we were driving home we spent the afternoon down by the really big big trees and saw the "Biggest Tree in The World", General Sherman.

We had such a great time and hope to go back again next year for a bit longer and in a different area of the park.
...Oh yeah, and there were lots and lots of Bears there!  I never saw one (thank heavens!) but we had to keep all our food in a bear box anytime we weren't eating.  We even had to put the car seats in there too, since bears sometimes smell food from car seats and may break into your car to get to it.  So SCARY!  I didn't sleep at all the first night!

Kruz Jason's Baby Blessing

We blessed Kruz over Labor Day Weekend on September 4th, 2011. Jason gave such a beautiful blessing, he made sure to really think about it and plan the blessing's we wished upon Kruz.  It ended up being one of the longest blessings I think I have ever heard, but it's hard keeping it short, when you want so much for your baby and hope that God will bless him with that too.
We had a lot of family come for the blessing as well as good friends of ours.
After Sacrament meeting we had a luncheon and was able to spend some more time with everyone.  It was such a beautiful afternoon.

Kruz-1 month

This past month has flown by!  I am enjoying every moment of it and trying hard to soak up every second!  I love cuddling with my little baby Kruz! He makes me so happy, I have been on a really big high since he has been here with us.  Kailah and I both love him to pieces and can't get enough of him.
His Stats at one month are:
Height: 22 3/4 Inches (94th percentile)
weight: 10lbs 8ounces(75th percentile)

He is a growing baby, and has grown out of almost all his Newborn clothes already and is already in size 1 diapers.  All he does is eats, sleeps, and poops it seems. He nurses about every 3 hours. He is starting to wake up for longer periods of time now, but her really would rather just be sleeping.  He likes being held and rocking in his swing.  He sleeps through all of Kailah's loud chatter and rough hugs, and tugs on him.  He is smiling a lot when he is awake and even when he is sleeping actually.  He has been sick a few times with just a boogery nose that I'm sure big sister so generously gave him.
We have given Kruz a bath a handful of times and he really doesn't care much for it, although he likes to hear the running water, it seems to soothe him.  He takes a binki, but the Nuk genius binki works the best, because it stays in his mouth the best.

Kruz has already been to the pool and beach a few times each.
Kruz got his first job as a "baby double" on the TV series Mad Men.  I'm excited that this will get his college fund started, and I can't wait to see if he books more jobs.

This past month my sister Valerie and her family have been visiting and also Grandma Dia came to visit too, we have stayed very busy.  It was really nice having Grandma Dia here, she helped out with Kailah so much and I was able to sleep and focus on the baby.  Focusing on two kids is very tricky and will take some getting used to.
