Fun "new" items

We took kailah to the pumpkin patch last weekend. We enjoyed looking at the animals while Jason made animal noises. Kailah would just stare at Jasons mouth when he was making the noises and then she would look back at the animals. It was fun to see her actually notice that there were animals running around. She hasn't really noticed before.
While changing diapers I always put my hand on kais belly to hold the diaper and kailah thinks it's a game so she gets real excited and grabs my arm with both hands and pulls it into her. She's so funny!
Also when sitting on the ground I will put toys in front of her and she will look at them for a second and then quickly lean forward with a huff to grab them! I don't know why she's in such a hurry to grab them but she's quick! We have to be careful what is put in front of her cause she grabs everything!Look how long she is. sometimes I don't notice but then there are days like today where I just had to take a picture cause she is really LONG!(the pillow is for comparison)Kailah has been loving this app on my phone called little Bella. It is such a cute interactive book. For those of you with iPhones this is a must for little kids. So cute!
At swimming lessons this week Kai is now kicking a lot and reaching a lot in the water. She really knows it's swimming time when we get there. She now will sit on the edge of the pool and jump into me and she has gone under the water successfully several times now. Despite dadda having dreams of me drowning her. Silly dadda!
Last weekend we also went out to a celebratory dinner with our friends Danny and Elaina. Elaina had reached her goal with her diet so what better way to celebrate than to go out, and pig out! :) kailah is now sitting in the restaurant highchairs. She looks so cute and little in those chairs but she enjoyed not having to be in her stroller.
Ok, now on to the fun "new" items. As you might know, I LOVE garage sales and thrift stores and flee markets, any way to find a good deal! This last weekend we went garage sale hopping and found this great find:
Which we turned into these great nightstands:
And at the thrift store I finally found:
Which is now my longed for :

Oh and to make our home feel a little greener:
The pot was $1 at a garage sale, couldn't pass that up! And I got to do a little planting so I was all for that! I miss having a
Little garden to take care of.

A few things

really quick I now have a new item i'm in search for; vintage suitcases preferably blue, tan, beige, white. I still haven't found a good pic frame yet so it looks like I need to find a flea market pretty soon.
Also I've been loving Big and Sexy hair products. Their hairsprays and shampoos are GREAT! My newest favorite from them Is their Dry Shampoo, I love it for days where your hair is greasy but you dont have the time to wash it! This saved me the other day and is now going to be replacing bumble and bumbles hair powder.

Just testin this out

There is this new blog app for your iPhone, I am just testing this out to see how it posts. I guess this would be good for quick little updates on the go???
Kailah and I started mommy and me swimming lessons last week and will be going every Monday and Wednesday for the next 4 weeks. Kailah loves the water and i felt like this is an important thing to do with your kids when they are young, statistics say children are less likely to drown if they have taken swimming lessons when young. Even knowing how to doggie paddle for a minute would save a life and it gets the kids aware of what the water is like. Other than that, it is something fun that kailah and I do together and an activity to get us out of the house. We are learning how to blow bubbles, and grab for toys in the pool which helps with the motor skills for swimming. :)

Kailah Eve- 6 months

Half of a year old! Kailah's stats are
weight- 14lbs 11ounces, doubled her birth weight almost exactly putting her in the 25th percentile.
Height- 26 1/2 inches and 77Th percentile!, tall and skinny just a petite little girl.
Her head size is in the 7th percentile, so tiny! Hats hardly fit her.
About her Personality:
Kailah is very friendly. She doesn't care who holds her. she likes seeing and meeting new people especially when they look at her and talk to her. She's also very independent, She would rather be in her crib soothing herself to sleep than letting me try to snuggle her to sleep. Kailah is very easy going and not a complainer. She can entertain herself very easily and does fine on the floor by herself for an hour, as long as she has some toys, a piece of paper or a water bottle. She is very curious and one thing can entertain her for a long time. She's always looking around seeing whats going on around her, and she likes to be a part of the party when we have guests over.

Milestones she has reached:
~rolls from back to tummy one way
~sits independently
~picks up her Binky and puts it in mouth(although sometimes it's upside down, or sideways)
~jibber jabbers all sorts of sounds, new ones everyday.
~drinks from a sippy cup independently while laying on her back
~eats baby food
~sleeps through the night 9p-7a, and has been since month 2
~passes toys from one hand to the other
~her first tooth (bottom left) is coming in! so exciting
Things she likes right now:
-being tickled with my fingertips on her chest and arms, so soothing!
-sitting rather than being on tummy
-jumping in her jumperoo
-Head rubs
-water bottles (so amusing!)
-Tags on clothes or toys or, anything that has a tag on it.(again, so amusing!)
-being read to
-being tickled under her chin on her neck
-being thrown in the air
-being outside
-feeling the wind
-LOVES being carried up our 3 flights of stairs, she thinks it's fun! (me on the other hand, not so fun carrying a baby and groceries, purse and diaper bag etc etc... up 3 flights of stairs)
-Vegetables
-bath time
-loves to dance around with mom to music.
-loves playing with her thumbs (like in the video)
-looking in the mirror at herself
-likes to talk

Things she Doesn't like right now:
-getting her clothes changed
-being cold when getting out of the bath
-teething!
-having to sit back while getting buckled in her car seat or stroller
-having the sun in her face
-being tired
-being hungry
-her face/nose being wiped

Every time we are out people always compliment how good of a baby Kailah is. She never complains unless she is hungry or tired. Kailah has a really quiet cry, it sounds more like fussing, I didn't realize this until everyone started pointing it out to me and I realized how lucky I am. Even when she cries it is never for a long time and never screaming.(except for more recently, because of her new little teeth coming in!) All in all I think we have just been blessed with a really good baby! Now I hope it stays that way! :)
I LOVE when Kailah smiles real big, she scrunches her nose and her eyes get really squinty and I think it's so dang cute! When waking Kailah up from her naps or in the morning, she gets really excited to see you and she smiles real big and starts kicking her legs frantically and shaking her head back and forth, it's so FUNNY!

oh a travelin he'll go...for work that is

Jason's work asked him if he wanted to go to Europe(for work), and of coarse his response was YES! So within a week of finding out He was on his way to the area that he once was flying to for the first time 10 years ago (Jason served his mission in England) He was able to see London, England; Manchester, England(where he went to the MTC), and Cologne, Germany He did a lot of walking around going to different shoe stores and eating out with buyers they were entertaining. He got to explore London and do some sightseeing things and he got to watch, study, and understand the trends that are going on in Europe right now, which should help him in his shoe designing.
Luckily Jason was able to go on this trip with two of his colleagues that he actually really gets along with and really likes. He said he had a great time and wouldn't mind living in London for a couple of years He loved it so much....don't worry I told him not to get any ideas!

friends friends and more friends

I feel so blessed to have such great friends who I am able to see at least a couple times a year, even though we all live away from each other. My friends always make such an effort to keep our friendship and I am so thankful for them and all of their love and support that I know will last a life time.
Because of poor planning and last minute decisions I was able to have 3 of my best friends visit within one week of eachother, sadly none of them overlapping. It was however fun to have one on one time with each of them.A couple weekends ago Janiel and Mike were vacationing in San Diego so we decided to drive down for the weekend and hang out. We all had a lot of fun, And Jason loved hanging out with Mike cause he is SOO Die Hard! Mike likes to do fun active things and Jason does too so they had fun. Their first fun adventure was riding the flow rider. Now if it was just jason and I, Jason probally wouldn't have done it, but Mike is Die Hard so they both tried it out, and actually did really good! most the guys that tried it fell down on their first time. Jason and Mike were able to stay up the first time and evertime after, which made it worth the $25 dollars.

The following week Nikki flew down from Stockton,CA and was able to see Kailah for the first time. Actually it had been a year since Nikki and I had seen eachother, so it was fun to catch up and do some sightseeing. I really wish Nikki lived closer (HINT, HINT!) I miss having her around. She is always so sweet and just fun to be around and a really positive person. Kailah just adored her too. Kai has never really taken to someone so well as she did to Nikki, (even though Kailah really does like everyone and is really friendly) Nikki would just look at Kailah, and Kai would start laughing, it was so cute.

Then the following weekEND Lindsay came for a visit, its too bad it was cold or rainy most the days. Mine and Lindsay's favorite thing to do is probally just go to the beach not do a single thing and listen to our ipods while relaxing. We ended up doing a lot of shopping, mostly for Kailah :) And by the last day we sucked it up in the rain and went to the beach. Rain or shine I love seeing the ocean, Although it is nice to have the sunshine back.

~Happy OcToBeR~

Well it's october so we can start decorating for Halloween now right? and now Kailah can wear her super cute spider onesie, but only for a month.
I think for Halloween Im going to have Kailah just be a fairy. she already has a pink tutu and wings so that's easy. I did run across a tutorial on how to make the tutu's though and they are really cute. you can make them in black for a witch costume or green for tinkerbell etc etc... Go HERE if you want to know how to make these super cute tutu's.

While doing Jason's Hair we put Kailah in Her bumbo to watch so she would feel included in on hanging out with us. well a few foils to play with and a binki later this is what we found:
poor baby must have been so tired!

I Love when Kailah smiles so big and shows her gums. it's so cute.

Oh and baby side profiles are the sweetest! look at that perfect soft skin! I love it!
