The day started out good. The sun was shining, it was a hot summer day, perfect day to celebrate my 25th birthday. I woke up in a really weird mood feeling a little down, probably cause I am pregnant or the fact that I didn't think Jason would do anything for my birthday or even remember... But after getting myself and Kailah ready Jason text me to meet him for lunch at a cute little cafe in westlake village, and that I could drop Kailah off at her friend Jack's house while we went to lunch and had some much needed one on one.
Lunch was good and I always love sitting outside on the patio under an umbrella while it's sunny outside and eating my lunch. plus I love day dates so props to Jason for setting this up. Jason bought me some perfume and a maternity massage which was just what I have been wanting(the massage.)
After Lunch I went and got an overpriced manicure and pedicure. There are lots of Filipinos that do nails out here and they are usually really cheap and then they ask you if you want something in VERY broken English and you accept cause you just don't know what they are saying and then at the end of your service you end up paying twice the amount you were planning on paying, geesh! My nails look great, but the so called massage was pretty much non existent. Whatever, I won't go back to that salon again. I really was hoping to get a really long foot massage so hopefully my maternity massage will surpass my expectations and I will be able to get it done here in the next few weeks, since I am down to 3 weeks til my due date!
Well I went to pick up Kailah and as I was leaving we were walking down my friends stairs and I fell down the last 4-5 stairs, kailah in tow. As I was falling I remember thinking oh no catch Kailah and then right before I hit the ground I tried bracing myself thinking oh no the baby! I landed on my back right butt/thigh/hip area and immediately I felt pain in the opposite area of my body in the front pubic bone area. I immediately started crying, not because I was hurt, but because I was worried that I may have hurt the baby and I didn't want to get up and move because I didn't know what I had hurt and if moving was going to hurt more. Poor Kailah was a toughie with a few scratches on her legs and not one thought about how she was hurt, but started asking me if I was ok, "ok mama?, ok?" We went back into my friends house and I immediately called my doctor and said I was coming in and I had fallen and wanted to check on the baby.
Jason met me at the hospital to help out with Kailah. We did tests on the baby monitoring his heart and he seemed to be fine. He is still very active, and falling surprisingly didn't give me more contractions or anything. Dr. gave me some pain meds and ordered bed rest for 24-48hrs, for my sake. He must have known the pain I was about to go through.
I was in some pain making it a little hard to walk but I was still able to drive to the doctors and get home by myself but Jason needed to help carry all my bags and Kailah cause by the time I got home I couldn't carry anything and it was getting harder to walk.
For the next hour I sat on the couch and the next time I tried to move, I couldn't move anything! It was hard to move from my waist down. I started getting worried that some serious damage was done to my hips or bones or something so we called a few doctors for a second opinion and we called my OB again who said if I came in he would just give me more pain medication. Jason and I decided not to fill the prescription my OB gave me for pain cause we thought I could tough it out and we didn't want it to affect the baby in a bad way, but by ten that night Jason was on his way to fill the prescription since that was the only thing that could help me in any way.
That night our friend came over and helped Jason give me a blessing that I would be able to walk again by the following night so I could begin to take care of myself and that Jason could go back to work. After the blessing Jason surprised me with one BIG piece of cake and a single candle. All I was talking about all day was that I was going to make my own cake and celebrate with Kailah that evening because Jason was going to be at his soccer game, and I still wanted something special. Anyways, It was really weird cause our friends were still there and they didn't know it was my birthday and Jason just walked in and started singing so I bet they felt a little weird. haha. Anyways I'm glad I got my piece of cake at least! :)
Jason took a picture of me right after the cake and singing, saying I would want to remember this. Well my camera was on the completely wrong settings and he didn't realize it, so here is me on my 25th birthday at the end of the day!
Glamorous huh?!?!.....well, at least my overpriced nails looked pretty! :)

Cousin Michael visits
Jason's Nephew Michael came to visit for the past two weeks. We don't get to spend a lot of one on one time with Michael. He is the oldest grandchild on Jason's side of the family and 7years older than the next grandchild. So he pretty much was the only one for awhile and then the rest of the boys in the family got married and started having kids ( a bunch of girls!) So poor Michael never had cousins he really grew up with on the Raleigh side.
Well since Michael is 12 we thought it would be fun to host him for a couple weeks this summer. So he flew out here to California all by himself and he hung out with his grumpy, way pregnant aunt Kristen for a few weeks. Most the time I could tell he was pretty bored or not having fun, but I tried to plan fun things to do like go to the park, and library, the beach, a play date, our wards picnic in the park, we went out to lunch a few days, universal studios, we went to the griffith observatory, and the very last day Jason went with him to Six Flags. I'll have to admit that entertaining a 12 year old is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I give Kailah some dirt and she's good for an hour. lol! Luckily our neighbors had a play station they let us borrow so Michael could kill time while I was getting things done around the house.
I am so glad that I still have 10 years until I have to start worrying about taking care of a teenager, cause I definitely don't know what I'm doing right now. But at least Michael is old enough that he could take care of himself and clean up and get ready for bed by himself or make his own breakfast and lunch, and that's something I am still doing for a two year old, so I guess every stage has it's pros and cons and each stage is hard in different ways.

Oh 2!
My sweet, little, innocent, precious, baby girl. This is what you look like when I love you the most. :)
This week however, I am losing it. No matter how happy, smiley, wiggley, dancing, prancing, jumping, sweet little thing you are, I have been losing my patience over all the times I've had to wash crayon off the walls, floor, doors... The many times I've cleaned up your pee-pee, even though most of the time you do make it to the bathroom, there is still that percentage of times where pee-pee has to be cleaned up and I am the only one to do it. I am going crazy having to carry bags full of groceries up three flights of stairs 8months pregnant going as slow as a snail because I'm waiting for you to climb the stairs at your own snail pace, stopping to point at the ceiling, or to touch something sticky on the ground. Running as fast as I can with this big belly to catch you before you run into the road is for sure what will put me into labor. Putting your squirming little body into PJ's for the night gives me a braxton Hick contraction every time! I can't even bend over anymore to give you a bath, but I do it anyway since I'm the only one around to do it. And this NO nap time is really driving me insane, I don't know how much longer I can take it, will you please just take a nap and give me a few hours, please?!?!? Oh baby girl, If you only understood....But you don't your only 2, and so I am going to enjoy it! From now on I am going to laugh at every dirty underwear I have to wash, and every crayon mark I scrub from the wall, and if you don't want to wear your PJ's then that's ok you can sleep in your clothes, and If you don't want to take a nap then that's ok too, I will just lock myself in my room and take my own nap. I will enjoy this stage, I will enjoy this stage, I will enjoy this stage...because honestly I DO love this stage, I just wish it was someone else doing all the dirty work so I could just be your little buddie and play with you all day instead of having to be a parent and be responsible, all the while carrying a big baby boy around in my belly.
Makeup
I have quite the girly girl on my hands. Kailah loves dancing around with her "fly wings" and doing her hair pretty pretty, and putting on her lip smackers makeup....And then when I'm not looking.....
...She likes to put on my makeup too!

Memorial Day weekend 2011
Saturday we explored Ventura Harbor. we were able to go to the Channel Islands museum and go on a boat ride around the harbor. Kailah loved going on a boat ride. She really understands what we are doing and it makes it that much more fun to do activities with her and as a family. We also ate lunch and had some ice cream, as well as just walking around and checking out the shops.
On Memorial Day we went as a family to the Westlake Village cemetary memorial service. We went there last year and it was just as great this year. We are going to make it a tradition to go to a memorial service every morning of memorial day. It really helped us remember what the holiday is all about and we always feel really good after going.
That afternoon we got together with a group of friends to bbq and go swimming. Our friends have the best kiddie pool at their condo. We loved spending the day in the warm sun with great friends.

Grandparents visit
Kailah got a special visit from Grandma and Grandpa Raleigh. Of course she is so spoiled when the grandparents come to visit. They were only here a few days but we did a lot. We went to Underwood farms which Kailah absolutely loves. We ate lunch at the Grove and watched them film Extra. Kailah was given lots and lots of attention. It was really nice just sitting back and letting the grandparents take care of Kailah for a minute. Now that it's nearing the end of my pregnancy I am starting to have a harder time taking care of Kailah. Some days I do great, and other days I feel like she is completely neglected. She loved having her grandparents here and we are so lucky to have them be able to come visit.
J & B Visit
It's that time of year again when we start to get visitors and I am absolutely loving it! I really enjoy having friends and family come stay for awhile.
This past week Jason's brother Justin and his family came to visit. Every day they were here the weather was so nice. Which is something I always hope for when people come to visit. We were able to go to the beach a few days and do some sightseeing in LA, and go out to eat a few times. I really enjoy the one on one time we were able to spend with them.
Kailah absolutely loved being with her cousins. She tended to follow Paige who is 4yrs, around, and play with her. Paige was very engaging with Kailah and that made her more interested in her than her other cousin Kambrie who is only 3 months younger than Kailah. Although Kambrie and Kailah got along pretty good too and were pretty good about sharing with each other and giving hugs.
Kailah has so much energy right now and is really starting to break out of her shell and be more outgoing. She just fed off of Paige's energy which made for two little wild girls running around laughing, playing, and sometimes fighting over toys or whatever.
My favorite part about having guests is when we get the kids down for bed and then are able to sit around and chat and hang out without having to worry about the kids running around. We had a few really late nights sitting up talking.
