I'll have you know, since i haven't been working, I have turned into quite the housewife. :) Since we have been married I have always had a hard time finding quick easy and DELICIOUS meals to make for me and my hubby. Well over the last couple years i have accumulated some meals that fit that description perfectly and would like to share them with all you other women who might be feeling the same way i do. Most of these recipes take only a half hour and are really simple but sooo good. restaurant worthy i will add
While in Boston I learned a little about seafood, And how to make an amazingly delicious
SHRIMP ALFREDO PASTA
Ingredients: -one pound RAW shrimp(yes raw! it is so much better and sooo easy to cook) -2tbsp. green onions chopped -garlic powder -4tbsp butter -1tsp flour -1/2cup white cooking wine. -1cup heavy cream -1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
*peel and de-vien shrimp(or have husband, or other available boy man do this.) melt butter in large frying pan, add green onions and garlic, add shrimp and saute until almost entirely pink (a couple mins.) add flour and all liquids to pan and boil until cream thickens and shrimp is entirely pink. add Parmesan and stir til creamy. serve over your choice of cooked pasta. (we use angel hair.) serves 4!
Right after we had Kailah meals were brought to us from people in our ward. our favorite and still our most favorite meal (besides the shrimp pasta) is
LEMON CHICKEN
Ingredients: -1 1/2lbs chicken breast cut into chunks -1/4 cup flour -salt -2tbsp vegi oil -1tbspwhite wine vinegar -1/2c. chicken broth -8oz prepared lemon curd (found by the jellies and jams in the grocery store.) -1/4cup hot water -1 lemon zested
*coat the chicken lightly in flour and seasoned with salt. heat a large skillet over high heat add vegi oil and fry chicken until golden(3-4 mins) remove from pan, reduce heat to medium and add splash of vinegar. add chicken broth to pan. thin curd by adding hot water and then add curd to the pan. add chicken back to pan and simmer for 1-2 mins or until sauce is to the thickens you like it. :) serve over rice. serves 4
well i'm off to make the lemon chicken. my mouth waters thinking about it! we have it like once a week now. Just don't forget to comment and tell me how much you love me for introducing you to these EASY, YUMMY meals! :) oh and leave me your favorite recipe too if you have one for my to try. :)

two weeks has come and gone...
It's been about two weeks since I last posted. We have been busy searching for a place to call home, the only down side is we can't afford jack saquat in california! to give you an example here is a picture of a 2bed 2bath home that we can afford...not very desireable! :(
So the search for our first home is really not so much fun cause we can't be very picky at all! And we don't like a dang thing. you always think of looking for your first home as being so exciting. well that's not the case for us.
I realize that I haven't taken a lot of pictures with my camera the last couple weeks, but the pictures I do have are from my phone, everytime Kailah is doing something cute my phone is the closest thing.
So for the lack of pictures,we have made a couple short videos. We wish all our friends and family could be around more to be able to see Kailah grow. She is so strong on her tummy. she can stay there for minutes! she also has really good focus so she's always looking around , and everytime she sees the camera she just stares at it!

I LOVE PIGGY TAILS!

Kailah recieved several gifts the last couple weeks. one was a stool with a puzzle of her name carved into it given by her great-gpa and gma wood.

I guess Kailah was a little worn out from playing, when I found her asleep, holding on to her hanging toy and her binki! HA! she never falls asleep this easy! Which reminds me, does anyone have any tips for keeping a baby asleep during naps??? she only sleeps for maybe 1/2hour during naps. Which is funny Cause she sleeps AWESOME at night! 9hours!!! (i must brag!)

Every thursday night at a little mall like thing across the street from us there is a outside movie in the park. So we try to go everytime we get the chance. The week we went they were playing E.T. this movie is seriously funny! I haven't seen it since I was like 8yrs old and thought it was scary! So watching it now and really seeing how funny it actually is makes me laugh. They also do a raffle while waiting for the sun to go down before they start the movie and so Jason got us some raffle tickets.(even though it was kind of for the kids. :)) And of coarse with Jason's luck he won some ice cream! haha! him and Kailah look pretty happy for just winning some ice cream dontcha think???

Kailah Eve 3 Months
Kailah is 3 months old today. She's a lot of fun. Jason and I have really been enjoying her and she is getting so big. I took some pictures and edited them in photoshop. I think they look pretty professional but of coarse Jason has to add his 2cents and then makes me start thinking they don't look professional. So what do you guys think? (only tell me if its positive):)

Thumb sucker
She found it! Kailah has been sucking her hand here and there for the last couple months and this is what I found her doing lately!

She's finally figured out how to suck her thumb! It's cute because she found it on her own, but at the same time this is not a habit we want her to have. I keep telling her that thumbs are not for sucking and hands are not for eating, while pulling her hand out of her mouth, but within a minute she always puts it right back in! I hope we can get her sucking on her binki more, since that's an easier habit to break! No thumb suckers here!

when Jason gets home from work and sees Kailah in pigtails he immediately takes them out. as a result she ends up looking like this!

Actions!
I discovered the coolest thing with Photoshop! it's called actions! I always new photographers photoshoped their pictures, but I never have the time to ever edit my own. So I'm so excited cause I finally figured out that you can now click a button in photoshop and all the editing is done for you. yay! here's some fun photos i just did really quick, and I'm taking Kailah out on Friday to do her 3 month pictures, so I can't wait to mess around with them and see what I can come up with. :)

Celebrating our independence
I LOVE the 4th of July! next to Christmas it is my FAVORITE holiday! We were so close to dropping everything and making our way to my family's reunion in Utah this weekend, but after thinking long and hard we decided to just stay put for the fourth of July weekend. We did some shopping, went to the beach, and accomplished going to the movies with Kailah again. Saturday we made our way down to Irvine to visit friends from our old ward and celebrate with them. that afternoon we were invited to a bbq with people in our new ward, so that was fun to get to know some new people in our neighborhood. I think it will be just a matter of time before we start really feeling settled here in Newbury Park, we still love and miss Irvine.
Kailah looked so dang cute on the fourth of July so we took a bunch of pictures, Im posting a lot of pics of her, cause all her little faces are so funny and cute! she is talking a lot now...just ahhh's and oooh's of coarse, but we just love hearing her sweet little voice, and we just sit and laugh and smile. she loves sitting up and looking around. I forget sometimes that she's still just a tiny little baby cause she's so aware of what's going on and I think all her hair makes her look older. the other day someone asked if she was crawling, I said; "ummm...she's only 3 months." don't babies start crawling when they are like 8 months??? Anyways i've seen a few brand new babies lately and Kailah is starting to look so big next to them. I can't believe how much she has grown in 3 months!!! wow! Kai also LOVES being outside. everytime she's in her stroller outside or were walking to the park or going to the beach and she feels the wind she just loves it and she starts ooohing and aaahhing. I wish you all could hear it. it's so cute!
