San Diego Vacation

We had a family vacation this month with Jason's family in San Diego.  I really enjoyed getting Kailah together with her cousins.  It was fun to see how Kailah interacted with them and how much she just loved to hang out with the big girls, Maya & Paige(who are 3&4). Kailah just followed those two around most the time, and she was also very good with Her new cousin Olivia who is only 3 months old.  Kailah seemed to know she was supposed to be very gently with the new baby and she was, this gives me lots of hope that she will be a very great big sister when that time comes. :)

We spent a lot of our week at Disneyland.  Kailah enjoyed most the rides when we were there, but I'm sure she will never remember it.  Most the time she would have rather been running around instead of riding rides, but she didn't complain too much.  I will admit that she did have some pretty big fits during this vacation!  I'm trying to start the discipline now while she is still little so she knows, it is not ok to throw fits like that.  Hopefully she will grow out of it soon. :)

First Baby Quilt

I just couldn't wait to get my hands on my new sewing machine, so I made a trip to Joanns, spent way too much money on fabric, got all the essentials I needed, and headed home to make this:
Super cute boys baby blanket and matching Tie Onesie's, Now what am I going to do with this????  Good thing a couple of my friends are having boys, hopefully they don't read this post!

4th of July weekend

This weekend was so busy, Jason and I got to spend some MUCH needed quality time together.  We saw Eclipse this weekend with a couple of friends.  I really liked this movie. I enjoy not knowing what is going to happen, since I never read the books, so I am always surprised each movie and that makes the movie that much better. However my friend did spoil the next one for me a little, she accidently slipped and told me something really important, that I won't say just in case you haven't read the books either and you want to be suprised!
Since living away from family, most years I start to get a little sad around the 4th wishing I was back in Utah where I grew up and where a lot of my friends and family are.  The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays and I love to spend it with the people I love.  This year I never had that sad feeling like I do most years.  I guess that's a good thing.   I'm finally starting to feel a little more settled and really happy with where we are living.
Having the 4th of July on a Sunday is really interesting and foreign to me out here in California. I am used to Utah where we celebrate it on Saturday if the 4th lands on a Sunday.  Not out here!  Everyone was walking around going to the park, doing parades etc... As we were driving to church on sunday morning.  I was so happy to be at church singing my patriotic songs and thanking Heavenly Father for this Free Country we live in.  Being able to go to church really kicked off the start to a great day!
That afternoon we went to a BBQ at our friends Carrie and Ali Fisher's house, Their little boy is Jack who Kailah gets along with really well.

We ended up watching fireworks in Thousand Oaks at a park.  I was so happy to be surrounded with great people and Yummy food this 4th of July.    Kailah loves Jacks wagon that she gets to ride in when they play together.  Looks like I have another thing to add to the never ending wishlist of baby gear!

24th Birthday

I celebrated my 24th birthday this week.  I still feel like I am 19 and I am loving my 20's!  I'm making sure to embrace everything while I am still young so I don't look back on my life and say 'what if?'.

Jason suprised me with a sewing machine this year!  Of coarse this gift is partly for him, since he knows how to sew better than me.  I have been wanting a sewing machine for SO long.  There are so many projects I want to do and having a sewing machine is just adding to my list of hobbies that I love!
Jason took the day off on Monday, He and his mom Dianna woke up early and drove down to LA to try and get Jay Leno tickets.  To their disappointment Jay Leno was on vacation.  So they walked over to the Ellen show and she was on vacation too!!!  They tried getting tickets for a WB tour and that was all sold out, so they just drove home empty handed.  We had already scheduled for a babysitter to watch Kailah so we decided to use her and just go to a movie.  We saw the movie grown ups, which Jason really liked, it was funny but not my favorite movie. After the movie we walked around the mall and of coarse when it's each others birthday, everybody gets a little something, so Jason got to spend time at the apple store and Dianna and I scored some awesome sports bras which were on sale at Victoria's Secret.
Thanks to Dianna who made me a yummy chocolate cake.  Last year I didn't get cake so I was so excited to eat some this year. Especially because I Love Cake!!!

Also with some birthday money from my Parents I was able to get a new camera lens that I am Loving!  Here is Jason being my practice model when my lens arrived at 8pm one night, I just had to test it out.

Divas Retreat 2010

If you don't know already, I am apart of a Dating your spouse blog, called The Dating Divas.  Our blog has been growing like crazy so it was time to get together and really bond with all the girls involved and talk about the future of our blog.
Luckily Jason's mom was able to watch Kailah for a day while I snuck away on Friday and headed to St. George, UT where all the craziness began!
I don't think I slept more than 5 hours the whole weekend.
I felt like there was so much we did for our spouses over the weekend.  It got me really excited to get home and plan fun things for Jason.  I can't wait to give him all the fun gifts we got at the retreat.
